Reflection Moment
  • Theology should be reconstructive rather than destructive; inclusive rather than exclusive; proactive rather than reactive; complementary rather than competitive; integrative rather than disintegrative; programme-driven rather than project-driven; people-centred rather than institution-centred; deed-oriented rather than word-oriented; participatory rather than autocratic; regenerative rather than degenerative; future-sensitive rather than past-sensitive; cooperative rather than confrontational; consultative rather than impositional. From Liberation to Reconstruction

PaschalWhen we are confronted by the death of someone close to us, we find ourselves at a loss on many levels:

  • We look back and give thanks of the moments we shared, for the things accomplished, or ventured, and for the many hopes and dreams that make up life.
  • We recognize that we are sad now, and look forward to that time when somewhat further from the shadow we find that we are able to give thanks that for some part of our life we walked with this person.
  • And we look to God, the source and culmination of all things, the alpha and omega, and he focus of our faith, our hope and our love, recognizing that in the death and resurrection of Jesus, we know that God walks with us in our grief.

The Ministry of funerals is one of the great privileges  of the parish ministry. Funerals can be arranged to be conducted in the Parish Church (our first choice) or in a number of other places as seems appropriate.

Please contact the Rector to make the arrangements.

All we go down to the dust

and weeping o’er the grave we make our song

Alleluia. Alleluia. Alleluia.

Give rest of Christ to you servant with your saints

where sorrow and pain are no more,

neither sighing, but live everlasting

All we go down to the dust

and weeping o’er the grave we make our song

Alleluia. Alleluia. Alleluia.
